Nicholas Rice

After a successful career in advertising I decided to change direction and become an artist. I love being in the studio and experimenting with different techniques and now specialise in a particular style of 'mixed media' painting. Whether it's people, landscapes, flowers or my favourite subjects - sculpted figures - I enjoy creating images that 'glow' with reflected light.

My inspiration comes from many sources, I spend a lot of time visiting museums and galleries looking for ideas. I take my own photographs but also use photo libraries (with permission) to capture an image and then rework it. In the long months of lockdown I experimented with taking existing images and creating my own versions of them. I paint mainly in oils but also use acrylics and occasionally my iPad. The images in this gallery are my most recent work.

The images in this collection are printed to order by a specialist who produces artist's work for exhibitions and galleries. They are known as 'pigment prints' and use heavyweight, archive quality paper (Hahnemuhle Photorag Satin 310 gsm) to ensure a true and perfect image of the original.

Each work is signed and numbered and I'm limiting the print run to twenty five prints. The prints are supplied unmounted so that the collector can choose a frame that suits their preference.

Happy browsing, I hope you'll find one you'd like to own.
